Planning Application | Lambeth Palace

On Tuesday 18th April, planning permission was granted for the erection of building up to 9 storeys to provide a library and archive including new public library entrance via Lambeth Palace Road with landscaping and other associated works.

Major Development | Southbank Place

Update:

The planning application was granted for a mixed use scheme in June 2014 by the Secretary of State. The scheme comprises the retention of the Shell Tower, eight new buildings (ranging from 5 to 37 storeys), up to 877 residential units, 76,043m2 office uses, 5,986m2 retail use, 2,557m2 leisure use, 33om2 LU ticket hall and 23,037m2 basement and service use.

Construction work commenced on site on Monday 20th July 2015.

Three planning applications have been submitted to Lambeth Council for the approval of details relating to the Southbank Place development. The applications seek approval for the following conditions:

On 17th May 2016 condition 46 and 50 were granted permission of approval.

On 25th May 2016 condition 48 was granted approval.

Major Development | Queen Elizabeth Hall

Update:

A planning application for the refurbishment of Queen Elizabeth Hall was submitted in November 2013 and approved in February 2015.

Work on the development commenced in October 2015 with completion estimated for October 2017.

Major Development | Garden Bridge

Update:

A planning application has been submitted for the construction of a new pedestrian bridge spanning the width of the Thames and would incorporate an extensive garden landscape. The proposal is known as The Garden Bridge.

The Garden Bridge is proposed to land on Temple Station on the North Bank and on the Queen’s Walk, opposite the ITV building on the South Bank. The proposal includes a single storey building on the South Bank incorporating an area for 410m2 for retail and community uses, plus welfare facilities for staff, a plant room and maintenance room.

The application has been approved by both Lambeth and Westminster Councils. A legal challenge that had been launched has now been resolved. A start date for this development has not yet been confirmed.

An application for a marine licence (MMO) has been submitted of which the consultation ends Monday 25th April 2016.

Elizabeth House | Major Development

Update:

A planning application has been submitted for a major mixed scheme comprising a part 29, part 14 storey building and an 11 storey building with 88,6949m2 office space, 142 residential units and mixed retail/office space at ground floor. The scheme also comprises public realm creation and improvements.

A legal challenge against the Secretary of State’s decision not to order a public inquiry has recently been dismissed.

Lambeth’s Planning Application Committee has now decided to approve the application (subject to a S106 legal agreement and referral to the Secretary of State) at the 9th December Planning Application Committee 2014.

A start date for this development has not been decided yet.

Major Development | Doon Street Tower

Update:

A planning application was approved in 2010 (following a public appeal and legal challenge) for 329 residential units, public swimming pool and indoor leisure centre, educational/office building within a 43 storey tower with adjacent town square and connection to Waterloo Bridge.

A start date for this development is yet to be confirmed.

Ludgate and Sampson House | Major Development

Update:

Planning permission was granted in March 2014 for a mixed use development comprising 489 flats, 45,378m2 office uses, 2,627m2 retail uses, 1,969m2 community uses, 1,969m2 gym a new public square and basement parking for 200 cars.

Construction is set to commence in Q2 2015 for Ludgate House and Q2 2018 for Sampson House. The estimated completion date  is mid 2020 for Ludgate House and mid 2013 for Sampson House.

A definitive start date for this development is yet to be determined.
