From 8pm on the 22nd February 2018, the northbound lane of York Road will be closed whilst emergency works are undertaken to fix several gas leaks underneath the rail bridge at the approach to the IMAX roundabout.
The hard closure will begin at the junction with Chicheley Street, and traffic will be diverted via Westminster Bridge Road and Waterloo Road.
Lambeth’s Streetworks Team are working closely with TFL to minimise high traffic volumes using local side roads, in particular Lower Marsh and Baylis Road. They will be monitoring traffic movement in the area, particularly at peak times. Advance warning signs have been placed on approaching routes to encourage vehicles to re-route, and TFL have Enforcement Officers at the junction of Westminster Bridge Road with Addington Street to assist with this.
The end date of these works has not yet been confirmed, but engineers are aiming to reopen York Road from 05:00am on Monday 26th February. More information will be circulated regarding the end date of the works as and when it becomes available.
Please plan your journeys accordingly for the duration of this closure.
